At Idelic, we take steps to ensure every employee—and more broadly, everyone our work touches—not only feels welcome here but also that they are affirmatively accepted by our organization and our culture. To that end, we are taking Pride Month seriously and would like to share some of the initiatives we’ll be pursuing.
The Idelic team has signed the I ACT ON Pledge, a personal pledge that any individual can take to help drive inclusive behavior in their everyday life, and we hope that you will too. We do so because we believe that unchecked biases, as well as structural factors that our charitable giving hopes to address, lead to unjust outcomes which are counter to our mission of making the world a safer place for all.
This month we’re encouraging employees and friends to contribute to the cause. The following are just a few of the organizations that support LGBTQ health, safety, and equality:
- LGBT Truckers
- It Gets Better Project
- Gill Foundation
- Trevor Project
- Transgender Law Center
- The National Queer and Trans Therapists of Color Network
- LGBTQ Victory Fund
- GLSEN
- Equality Federation
- National Center for Transgender Equality
- Pride Fund to End Gun Violence
We hope that in sharing these charities, others in our community will be inspired to give to these righteous causes as well.
We often share social media posts promoting diversity & inclusion, and this month we’re focusing on spreading awareness of the LGBTQ community in the trucking industry. We hope these stories will show that everyone, no matter their background, is welcome in the trucking industry and can find meaning, fulfillment, and friendship in the industry we call home.
